Tiki tries hard to generate pages which respect the following standards:
eXtensible HyperText Markup Language (XHTML™) and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), WAP, HDML, i-mode, MML, VoiceXML with the HAWHAW toolkit. The generated pages are encoded using UTF-8 which means that they can handle all the characters defined by the Unicode standard.

Tiki is released via the LGPL license which is OSI Certified

The Live Support system uses the REST protocol

Tiki uses XML-RPC for the Communication Center.

Galaxia is an open source activity-based Workflow engine based on Openflow which is linked to the The Workflow Management Coalition
